The short version. The Lazy Navigator plans routes on your device and checks the weather along them. To fetch forecasts, it asks our server about points on your route — coordinates only, never who you are. We have no accounts, no analytics, and no way to connect a route to a person.
The Lazy Navigator has no user accounts and no sign-up, and includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The app talks to our service for exactly two purposes, described below: fetching weather along your route, and metering our use of third-party weather providers.
Route planning and turn-by-turn navigation use Apple Maps (MapKit) and run on your device. Your saved places and route history stay on your device. Apple's handling of map and location data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
To warn you about rain, snow, or storms ahead, the app requests forecasts for points along your route from our weather service, which fetches them from Apple WeatherKit or OpenWeatherMap. These requests contain coordinates and nothing else — no name, no account, no device identifier, no advertising identifier. Forecasts are cached briefly on our server keyed by location, not by you, so nearby users can reuse them; the cache cannot be traced back to any person or trip.
The app sends our server a random identifier created when the app is installed, together with a count of weather and map lookups. We use this only to stay within the request limits of the weather providers we pay for. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, location, or routes, and a fresh one is created if you reinstall the app.
Weather data comes from Apple WeatherKit and OpenWeatherMap via our server, so these providers see coordinate queries from us — not from your device, and not tied to you. The Lazy Navigator includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection SDKs.
Your places, preferences, and route history live on your device; deleting the app removes them. Server-side, cached forecasts expire automatically and usage counts carry only the random install identifier — there is nothing that identifies you for us to retain or delete.
The Lazy Navigator is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
